Herbal therapies—alternative medicine really works!

The proper use of herbs is based on the synergy of herbal combinations. A single herb is never as effective as a combination of herbs that work synergistically with one another.

Proper application of manuka oil requires other synergistic herbs to work optimally. Since manuka oil is effective against bacteria as well as fungi, and since in many cases we will never have a proper diagnosis, a suitable herbal therapy would involve antibacterial as well as antifungal components.

In essence, these therapies can begin simultaneously. It is important to keep in mind, however, that there is a distinct contrast between how to approach an antibacterial as opposed to an antifungal regimen. In fact we must maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in our intestines. In all good sense, there is really no need for us to have any fungus growing inside us whatsoever. Unfortunately many of us do, but this web site will provide a path to healing for the future.

The good news is that we can eradicate fungus from our bodies simply by incorporating herbs into our diet. Since we need bacteria in our guts, any antibacterial therapies that also kill this good bacteria cannot be maintained for long because they will not support these life essentials. But antifungal herbs such as garlic and oregano can be incorporated into the diet for one's entire lifetime. These are the healthy spices that have been safely utilized for the entire history of the culinary arts.

An antimicrobial herbal regimen—the antibiotic purification

This is a powerful cleansing ritual that should be used with proper awareness of its intensity. Such an application is quite effective against dysentery and other internal parasitic infections but can also be used as a basis for internal cleansing.

Herbal therapies involve the same cycles of change as do all things. Thus the therapy should be applied for a period of time and followed by a resting period. The resting period should be very long for the antibacterial herbs and can be very short (or even non-existent) in the case of the antifungal herbs. (So if you live for garlic and turmeric, just keep on eating it!)

The proper use of powerful antibacterial herbs can create drastic reductions in bacterial populations in a matter of days (or even minutes). Afterwards it is necessary is to recover the lost intestinal flora by consistent use of probiotic supplements. (Since probiotics are not actually herbs, they are somewhat outside the scope of the current discussion. Nevertheless, such supplements are of immense value since they are key to establishing the balance of bacteria in our guts.)

While the cycles of use for the healthy herbs such as oregano, garlic and turmeric may be maintained for extended periods of time, it is important to allow off-cycles for your body to adjust, especially when large doses are being utilized. One possible cycle might be ten days on, one day off. This cycle might be contained within a longer cycle of ten weeks on, one week off, etc.

In contrast the appropriate use of alterative herbs such as goldenseal might be four days on, four weeks off to be followed by a longer cycle of four days on, four months off, etc. Such a regimen is oriented toward completely eliminating these herbs from the diet in a relatively short period of time. This is because long-term use of such powerful antibiotic components is not compatible with internal health. The application of goldenseal root must be followed by consistent probiotics to be minimally disruptive. Since it is impossible to implement internal bacterial cleansing without compromising the healthy bacteria in the gut such therapies should be used in moderation. It is also helpful to incorporate a rejuvenating herb such as milk thistle in combination with and following the antibacterial regimen.

A powerful antibacterial therapy can be centered upon goldenseal root with the additional synergistic elements of red rasberry root. (Red rasberry leaf is much easier to find and can be used as a suitable replacement. In extreme cases it may be necessary to seek out the actual root for its greater efficacy.) Herbs such as chaparral and echinichea can be used as well to bolster the antibacterial properties of the goldenseal. In order to be effective, relatively large doses may be required. Thus two appropriate herbs ingested in sufficient quantities will have greater efficacy than a multi-herbal supplement containing many synergistic herbs but in smaller amounts.

The antifungal herbs—garlic, oregano and turmeric

Taoist symbol of yin and yang draws
parallels to the nature of skin disease as an imbalance of bacteria and fungus on the skin.

While the antibacterial herbs have a powerful antibiotic effect that is incompatible with our long-term health, the antifungal herbs can be considered as a healthy component of a regular diet. This is consistent with the cycles of change from the standpoint that we do not need any fungus inside us or around us in order to be healthy. In fact optimum hygiene can only be achieved in its absence.

The same is not true for bacteria. We live in symbiosis with these microbes and we rely upon their presence for our health. Thus herbs and other alteratives (e.g. soap) that have an impact on bacterial populations must be used in awareness of the potential imbalance thus created.

It is a beautiful thing when incorporating a healthy supplement of oregano in our diet can facilitate the internal healing of parasitic infections in harmony with the existence of the healthy bacteria. Thus the intestinal flora work in conjunction with the herbs to eradicate fungus from the body. This type of balance cannot be achieved in the presence of powerful alterative herbs such as goldenseal and chaparral.

A highly effective antifungal regimen can be centered on the internal use of oregano oil with the added synergies of garlic and/or turmeric. There is little question that the healthier we make our diets, the more difficult it becomes for any fungus to survive inside of us or on our bodies. In this modern society the capitalist interests supercede the general welfare and much knowledge about the causes of disease has been obfuscated from our awareness. It is possible, perhaps likely, that the majority of modern disease can be traced to an imbalance of micro-organisms within us and around us.

By eating a healthy diet and intelligently supplementing vitamins, minerals and herbs we can arm ourselves against any associated duplicity because we will no longer require the services of the medical community. We will be truly healthy for the rest of our lives.
